East Coast (still sailing) Laying Up Supper
As you know, we have the weekend of October 3rd and 4th booked for the Laying-Up Supper.

We will be going to Felixstowe Ferry on the entrance to the river Deben and go ashore and eat at the Ferry-boat Inn.

We will meet at the FBI at 1900 to sit down at 19.30.
We will have to pre-order food, so I will post the menu up soon. No doubt we will get together on various boats before hand for drinkies. All aboard Cento!

Ian Watkins from Marine Sales UK has kindly offered some sponsorship for the event, so thanks to him for his support, and we hope to see him on the East coast soon.

To allow me to plan numbers etc and confirm bookings, please could you let me know if you are attending, whether you need a berth, and how many people will be coming along to eat.

The tides for Bawdsey are

Saturday, 03 October 2009

05:07   0.9m
11:27   3.2m
17:24   0.4m
23:59   3.3m

Sunday, 04 October 2009

05:42   0.7m
12:05   3.3m
18:00   0.3m

So it will be a nice Saturday morning sail to Felixstowe, and a reasonable lie-in before departure.

For those attending the Laying Up Supper, buoys have been booked for all via John White the harbour master.

The ferry/water taxi stops running at about 5.30 so I suggest you have your dinghies ready. No doubt lifts can be found for those without dinghies.

When you arrive at Felixstowe Ferry, call  'Odd Times' on VHF CH8 or telephone Harbourmaster, John White 01394 270106
or 07803 476621 and he will direct you to a buoy. Tell him you are with the Legend Ownwers Assoc. We will be spread out a bit, but we can visit by dinghy. Please call or text me when you arrive.

Mike, Silly Goose has buoy 188 reserved for her, which is one of the last buoys on the upstream side, next to the big yellow workboat buoy with two long strops. It is more than capable of taking her weight (up to 20 tonnes). If you need help picking it up, call me and I will whizz over in the dinghy. It has a long mooring line attached on a float.

We need to be in the FBI by 7pm, but will gather for drinkies on a boat somewhere. The FBI want us to pre order food, but we are still waiting for the latest menu! Will circulate when it arrives.
