Hi all

We have arranged for this years Christmas celebrations to be held at the Lightship, Haslar Marina, Gosport on Saturday 5th December.

The meal will be a buffet style hogroast with deserts and will incluce a festive disco, all for a very reasonable sum of £18.50 and a great price of £7.50 for under twelves. (Options for an alternative childrens menu is available, please let me know).

Enclosed is the menu to whet your appetites.

To hold this great opportunity we need to confirm numbers within 10 days so please respond as soon as you can to me at colinworth@btinternet.com with numbers. We require a deposit (unfortunately not refundable unless we can transfer it) of £10 per person.

Access to Haslar marina is 24 hrs and berthing will be on the visitors pontoon which is reserved for us.
Berthing costs should be dealt with directly with Haslar Marina, however please indicate if you need a berth and I wil book you in.

We are also negotiating with Solent Coastguard at Lee-on-Solent for a guided tour of their operations rooms, something I think would be extremely interesting and informative. If you are intersted in this, again please let me know.

Best wishes

Hi Julie/ Trev

Yes the party is certainly on. I confirmed with the lightship yesterday and paid the deposit.

There's still the opportunity for anyone else to join us, just let me know, either on the forum or to colinworth@btinternet.com or 07919 565350.

I am still talking to Solent Coastguard regarding a tour around their ops room during the afternoon and will post details as they become available.

Regards
Colin

Hi All

Ok, just over a week to go until the Christmas party and we are sightly down on expected numbers as a couple of people have dropped out. So if you were thinking of coming but thought you were too late, there is still time!

For those of you who may not know, the Lightship has been in new ownership this year and is run with a wholely new outlook on service.... the customer actually matters!

So come and join us if you can.

I mentioned a possible tour of the Solent Coastgauard station and this has now been arranged for the Saturday afternoon. The tour will commence at 2pm and will last approximatly an hour and a half. This will include a presentation of their main activities and a guided tour of their ops room. This is subject to casualty working where we might be asked to vacate if they get a big shout on.

Numbers are strictly limited to 16 so it will have to be a first come first served basis. We can arrange lifts to Lee-on-Solent if their are not enough cars, or maybe a taxi or two, it's not far.
Please let me know.

Ok, now the bad news, I need to collect the balance of the payments and will issue Paypal invoices to those who have been paying that way. If you have paid your deposit by cheque, I will drop you an email confirming the balance due.

So if you know anyone who may be at a loss on Saturday night, get them in their glad rags and bring them along.

Looking forward to seeing you all,

Regards
Colin

Hi everyone

Just been waiting for the Lightship to confirm times.

We shall meet at 7pm for dinner at 7.30.
If you haven't paid your balance, please do so by Paypal today or tomorrow, or bring a cheque with you.

I have reserved berths in Haslar, all you need do is contact them on VHF ch 80 and they will put you in the visitors berths. These are located conveniently by the Lightship itself. Please pay your berthing fees directly with the marina.

There is still room for anyone who wants to come and see Solent Coastguard operations, just let me know, we need to be there for 2pm.

Ok, bring your party hats, dancing shoes and beer tokens.

See you Saturday

Another satisfied customer! We had a great time at the Lightship, and even managed to make use of the disco. Good food and service. Thanks for organising it.
